Storm Damage Sunday 11th May 2014

A tree was blown down this weekend and caused considerable damage to the tennis court fence.  Fortunately help was at hand to remove the tree and repair the damage.   Thanks to Pete Ford, Matt Harris, Terry Evans and Chas Kirk, sweepers up Cheryl and Toby Ford, Sunday's tennis session could continue.

Snow Courts to be seen

January 21st 2013

It's snow joke there's snow tennis for today, or even maybe tomorrow unless some one gets up there with a snow plough! Perhaps Pete could use the snow blower.

1936 Financial Records

Below is an extract from the Cash Book of accounts.  This is the first entry made in the year 1936 and it shows the record of Receipts and Expenses.  There was a healthy bank balance of £13.19s.3d and a notable profit was made on the Whist Drive £5.6s.5d.  The membership fees were very reasonable at 13s.6d and a dozen tennis balls cost only 8s.6d.        Interestingly £1 in 1936 would be worth approximately £60 using (RPI) or £162 using (Labour Cost) or £318 using (GDP) methods to calculate the cost today.
